BASSORILIEVI
I bassorilievi sono sculture nelle quali le figure emergono dallo sfondo con poca profondità, per cui c’è una notevole riduzione dei piani plastici. Sono esistiti in ogni civiltà dagli antichi popoli d’ Egitto, Mesopotamia, Grecia, India e Cina., al medioevo e al rinascimento. Questa tecnica è diffusa anche ai nostri giorni nella realizzazione di opere di scultura in tutto il mondo. Milena Cervini usa questo tipo di scultura con diversi materiali, il pannello di supporto è in legno, il materiale usato dall’artista può essere cartapesta, gesso ed anche terracotta. Naturalmente i bassorilievi vengono colorati e verniciati.
LOW RELIEFS
Low
reliefs are sculptures in which figures emerge from the background with little depth.
They already existed in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia,
Greece, India and China, from the Middle Ages - through European Renaissance up to the present day.
Milena Cervini uses this type
of sculpture with different materials: the panel is made of wood, the material used by the artist can be paper mache, plaster and even pottery. The carvings are then colored with
tempera, acrylic oil and then painted.
